About Emery

Emery Harvison has been Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Phoenix Symphony since 1996. He attended Louisiana State University graduating with both, Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Music degrees in 1993.

After LSU, he was a graduate teaching assistant for ASU Regents Professor David Hickman, and was awarded his Master of Music degree in 1995. He has recorded with Mr. Hickman for Summit Records and has published articles in the International Trumpet Guild and International Trombone Journals.

Emery has taught at Arizona State University and currently teaches trumpet, trumpet ensemble, brass quintet and brass studio at Mesa Community College. Emery also regularly teaches master classes in schools throughout Arizona.

Students in his private studio have been extremely successful, consistently winning positions in AZ Regional and All State bands and orchestras.
In 2015, eight of Emery’s students made AZ All State. His students have marched DCI in the Academy, Blue Devils, Carolina Crown and Vanguard. Students have also received music scholarships to ASU, NAU and U of A.

Mr. Harvison is an S.E. Shires Trumpet Artist.
